| Simplon
principals have extensive real estate development, construction
and investment experience having developed and owned several large
properties in Southern California. Their team and professional staff
are focusing their efforts on the redevelopment of San Diego, which
was recently named the #1 place in the nation to live and work by
the Forbes/Milken Institute.
Their
objective is to create exciting places to live and work with style
and character, which will become an admired part of the community
fabric for years to come.
Past
and current projects provide a synergism of talents, which position
Simplon well for future developments. Their Principals, with a combined
experience of more than 60 years of high-rise and consruction projects,
pioneered the use of ductile frame construction system in Southern
California. This system allowed cast-in place concrete structures
to exceed 160 feet in height for the first time. Use of this technlogy
allows for a substantital cost savings compared to a convential
steel frame construction. The Radisson Hotel, a 22-story 334-room
hotel located in San Diego, California, was the largest poured in-place
concrete structure in Southern Califonia History when constructed.
