Bay View
The Radisson Hotel, a 22-story 334-room hotel was the largest poured
in-place Concrete structure in Southern California History when
constructed.
Radisson Hotel in National City
This structural technique was also used in the construction of the
Radisson Hotel in National City. The 10-story, 180-room project
was hailed as "a milestone for National City" by then mayor George
Walters. The Radisson Hotels were on the "cutting edge" of redevelopment
in downtown San Diego and National City. Both structures gave other
developers the confidence to build other projects within these redevelopment
zones.
The Ramada Hotel
The Ramada Hotel, a 20-story, 312-room hotel utilized the same ductile
frame structure and included the largest single day concrete pour
in Southern California history.
Rancho Santa Fe Creek
The Santa Fe Creek development is located in Rancho Santa Fe, California,
named the Wealthiest Town in America by CBS news, Associated
Press and Data Quick Services. This 200-acre project was purchased
"raw" and has also been taken through numerous environmental
agencies as well as state and government review processes. Most
of the project has been sold although five view lots remain which
will have 9,500 and 12,000 square foot residencies, which will be
priced between $5,800,000 to over $7,900,000. This project adjoins
The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe and Cielo Development Projects.
Chula Vista Bayfront Redevelopment
The principals at Simplon were the lead developers with another
joint venture with the Pearl Co. in the completion of the masterplan
for the this redevelopment project. This project was a mixed-use
community consisting of 2,200 apartment units, 1,800 hotel rooms,
350,000 square feet of retail space and 7,500-setl multi-use athletic
and entertainment complex. This complex project went through no
less than 18 environmental agencies as well as state and government
review processes.
